The CCIMI held its first ever student video contest this year, with students and affiliated students creating short videos describing their work.  The videos were watched as part of an afternoon event on November 15th, with the audience including a judging panel made up of Ewan Kirk (CEO of Cantab Capital Partners), Marianne Freiberger (Editor of Plus Magazine), and Carola Schönlieb (Director of the CCIMI).  The videos show a range of topics covered by our students, and a range of approaches in video creation!

The winner was Eric Hanson, for his informative and entertaining explanation of Quantum Information Theory:

‘CCIMI Student Eric Hanson won the first CCIMI student video contest with this entry, describing his work in Quantum Information Theory.
Many thanks to falcxne for allowing use of his songs, and thanks to Phillipe Faist for creating the entropy zoo, which you can find here: https://www.its.caltech.edu/~phfaist/’

All the videos give great explanations of students work, and can be seen below, or found on our CCIMI YouTube Channel, along with brief descriptions and references, and more photos from the event can be found here
