Junior Group Leader Position in Mathematics at RICAM

The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences announces the opening of a Junior Group Leader Position in the fields of Life Sciences or Mathematical Data Sciences.

Requirements: Completed PhD degree in mathematics or a closely related field with strong background in mathematics, and experience in publication and presentation of scientific results. In particular, the successful candidate should fit one of the following profiles:

Junior Group Leader in Life Sciences: RICAM look for a promising researcher with experience in contributing to a deeper understanding of a specific challenge in medicine or in biology by mathematical modelling and simulation. Collaboration with RICAM research groups and/or application driven groups is expected.

Junior Group Leader in Mathematical Data Sciences: RICAM look for a promising researcher with experience in the mathematical analysis of a specific branch of data sciences, including learning theory and predictive analytics. Experience with the interface to data-driven, dynamical systems based modelling is welcome. We are looking for talented and self-motivated applicants with the capacity for leading a small team of researchers. The working language is English.
